ALA TechSource is happy to introduce a new series for the blog, Code Words, by Jason Clark.
The web is bursting with new software and new tech tools, but sorting through it all is time-consuming. Each month, Jason will share practical tips and snippets of code to give you a running start on projects. Occasionally, he’ll take a look at the bigger picture and point to an emerging tech or programming concept that people might want to know about.
Here are a few topics Jason is considering for Code Words.
- Set up a geolocation feature on your website using HTML5.
- Play with web services and APIs.
- Get started with jQuery mobile and build a mobile site for your library.
- Understanding database queries using MySQL.
Jason will explain how to get started with a project as well as why a particular tool or software is important.
Look for Jason’s first post “Using the Google spreadsheets API to drive a new book list” coming soon! In the meantime, follow him on Twitter, @jaclark.
